NIKA Ca – Solution for calcium deficiency in vegetable production

Modern vegetable production, with the application of intensive agricultural techniques, often leads to an imbalance in plant nutrition, which can result in an excess or lack of microelements. Crops such as peppers and tomatoes are particularly sensitive to calcium deficiency, which directly affects the quality and quantity of fruits.

Why is calcium important?

One of the first symptoms of calcium deficiency appears on the leaves in the form of petiole necrosis, while on the flowers it is manifested by drying and falling off. Apical rot (necrosis on the tops) appears on the fruits, which is a common problem with tomatoes and peppers.

Calcium is a poorly mobile element in the plant, and damage often occurs not because of its lack in the soil, but because of its difficult uptake at high temperatures and low soil humidity. Also, the problem can arise due to the poor transport of calcium to the tissues, even when it is present in sufficient quantities.

A solution from the Agrounik portfolio – NIKA Ca

The company Agrounik recommends the use of the preparation NIKA Ca from the NIKA fertilizer line, specially developed for foliar nutrition in vegetable production.

NIKA Ca contains:
– Calcium (Ca) and nitrogen (N) in an easily accessible form
– Microelements (Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, Mo) in chelated EDTA form, ideal for foliar application
– Magnesium, organic matter and carbohydrates for additional nutrition and better absorption

Double protection during stressful conditions

In strong sun and high insolation, burns (brown spots) occur on which saprophytes can develop, especially Alternaria spp. The combined application of NIKA Ca and biofungicide ERWIX effectively prevents and resolves these damages, while improving plant nutrition and health.

Recommended application

– Dosage: 30 ml / 10 l of water
– Phase: At the time of intensive growth and ripening
– Frequency: 2–3 treatments with an interval of 7–10 days
