FIRMIX is a microbiological preparation containing PGPR – Bacillus firmus. B. firmus produces as secondary metabolites enzymes that break down nematode egg walls, acting on the eggs and nematode larvae inside the eggs.

FIRMIX is a microbiological preparation for the biological control of nematodes in the soil.
It contains the beneficial bacterium Bacillus firmus (PGPR – a bacterium that promotes plant growth) that inhabits the root zone and protects the plant from damage caused by nematodes.
After application, bacteria colonize the root surface and root hairs, where it forms a protective biological layer. It secretes enzymes that break down the nematode eggshell and acts on the larvae even before they attack the plant, thus reducing their number in the soil.
At the same time, it creates a physical and biological barrier around the roots, making it harder for nematodes to find and penetrate the root system. In this way, the typical phenomenon of poor sprouting, stunted growth, yellowing and wilting of plants is prevented.
In addition to the protective effect, Bacillus firmus also produces natural plant hormones that encourage root development, so the plant regenerates damaged parts faster and absorbs water and nutrients better.
The preparation is suitable for organic and conventional production and is recommended in farming, vegetable growing and greenhouse production, especially in plots where weak root development or uneven plant growth is observed.
FIRMIX works in the root zone, where after the application of the bacteria Bacillus firmus, it quickly settles on the root hairs and the surrounding soil.
The bacterium protects the plant from nematodes through several simultaneous mechanisms:
Bacillus firmus secretes enzymes that break down the protective coat of nematode eggs.
This destroys the larvae even before they attack the root, so the pest population decreases in the soil itself.
By colonizing the roots, bacteria form a protective microbiological layer.
Nematodes find the root more difficult and penetrate the plant with difficulty.
The presence of the bacteria changes the chemical signals emitted by the root, so the nematodes lose their orientation and their attack on the cultivated crop is reduced.
The bacterium produces natural plant hormones that:
FIRMIX contains an active microbiological strain of the bacterium Bacillus firmus (PGPR – a bacterium that promotes plant growth).
This beneficial bacteria naturally inhabits the root zone and is known for its ability to:
After application, the bacterium multiplies in the rhizosphere (zone around the roots), where it forms a protective microbiological population and at the same time stimulates root development.
The preparation does not contain chemical nematocides and is suitable for use in organic and conventional production.
The application of FIRMIX protects the root and enables the normal development of the plant on soils where nematodes are present.
On the plant
In the land
For the manufacturer it means
FIRMIX is safe for people and the environment, allowed in organic production, withdrawal period is 0 days.
Bacillus firmus is active on the most important nematodes that mostly affect vegetable crops (cucumber, carrot, tomato, zucchini, melon, etc.) where they cause damage and reduce yields, both in greenhouses and in the open field. Application of FIRMIX is recommended through the drip system. Before application, it is necessary to moisten the zone of the root system by running the irrigation system for 10 min. After that, insert the preparation FIRMIX through the system, and then let the water flow again so that the preparation descends into the zone of the root system.
| CULTURE | TIME OF APPLICATION | QUANTITY OF APPLICATION |
| CUCUMBER, CARROT, | 3 – 5 days before transplanting | 2 l /10 ares, drip system |
| TOMATO, ZUCCHINI, | 7 days after transplanting | 2 l /10 ares, drip system |
| watermelon ITD.. | By appearance nematode | 2 l /10 ares, drip system |
It was created as a result of multi-disciplinary scientific research in which the effects of the application of PGPR bacteria from the Agrounik collection were examined in the production of field crops, vegetables and flowers, fruit and vines.
