The development of seeds and fruits of stone fruit species begins with double fertilization and ends with the onset of botanical maturity. During this time, morphological, physiological and biochemical changes occur in the fruit. The period of fruit development of stone fruit species from full flowering to harvest lasts 30-80 days.
The first phase lasts from fertilization to the beginning of the woody stone. It is characterized by intense fruit growth based on cell division. Of the total weight of the fruit, the increase in this phase amounts to 18-28%. The second phase is characterized by the slow growth of the fruit and in it the woody (lignification) of the endocarp occurs. The increase in fruit weight in this phase amounts to 2-10% of the total weight. The third phase is characterized by renewed intensive growth, as well as ripening of the fruit. Knowing the course of development and the processes that take place during the formation of fruits, a correct approach from the point of view of plant nutrition is extremely important, and it is necessary to carry out effective treatments that will enable the plant to provide the formed fruits with the necessary nutrients for further development. The further development of the plant and the total yield largely depend on timely and high-quality treatments from the first stage of fruit formation.
The Agrounik company’s recommendation is foliar treatment with the preparation ENERGEN AKVA with microelements in the amount of 1 liter/ha, based on humic acids, in combination with the water-soluble fertilizer NikaFert 15:5:35 in the amount of 2-3 kg/ha. Humic acids will enable the complete absorption of the elements of water-soluble fertilizer and thus ensure a better growth of fruits, as well as the plants themselves. Through the fertigation system, the amount of application of the water-soluble fertilizer NikaFert 15:5:35 is 30 kg/ha in combination with the preparation ENERGEN AKVA with microelements in the amount of 1 liter/ha.
