Cerix B

CERIX B is a registered biopesticide for strengthening the natural resistance of plants to diseases, especially in sugar beet against Cercospora beticola.
Beneficial microorganisms inhabit the leaf surface and form a protective biofilm that hinders the development of pathogens. The preparation acts preventively, reduces the appearance of leaf spots and preserves the leaf mass.

Istovremeno podstiče oporavak biljke nakon stresa, razvoj korena i fotosintezu, što direktno utiče na prinos i sadržaj šećera.

Description

Problem: sugar beet leaf spot (Cercospora beticola)

One of the most significant sugar beet diseases is cercospora (leaf spot). The disease most often occurs during warm and humid summer, especially after the rows are closed.

The first symptoms are small, round gray spots with a reddish-brown border on the leaves. As the infection progresses:

The plant then tries to form new leaves, consuming energy from the roots. This is exactly where the biggest problem arises.

How does CERIX B work

CERIX B is a registered biopesticide that is applied preventively, before the mass occurrence of the disease.

After the treatment, the microorganisms from the preparation inhabit the surface of the leaf and form a protective biofilm. In this way, the pathogen Cercospora beticola has a harder time germinating and penetrating the leaf tissue.

At the same time, the preparation activates the plant’s natural resistance (induced resistance), so the leaf:

What does it mean on the plot

In other words, the chemical fungicide “puts out the fire”, and CERIX B helps make it harder for fires to occur and spread more slowly.
That is why its role is most important at the beginning of protection and between fungicidal treatments.

CERIX B acts preventively on the leaf surface of the plant.

After application, beneficial microorganisms quickly inhabit the leaf and form a protective biofilm. This layer represents a physical and biological barrier that hinders the germination of spores and the penetration of pathogens, especially Cercospora beticola in sugar beet.

The drug acts through several mechanisms:

  1. Colonization of the leaf surface

Microorganisms take up space and nutrients on the leaf, so the pathogen has no conditions for development and infection.

  1. Antagonistic action

Beneficial bacteria secrete natural metabolites that inhibit spore germination and slow the spread of disease.

  1. Induced plant resistance

The preparation activates the plant’s natural immune response, so it reacts faster to infection and develops symptoms of the disease more slowly.

  1. Biostimulating effect

Balanced ratio of natural plant hormones (auxin and cytokinin):

CERIX B contains selected beneficial bacteria from the genus Bacillus.

These microorganisms naturally inhabit the surface of the plant, where:

In addition to the protective effect, bacteria produce biologically active substances (auxins and cytokinins) that stimulate growth, leaf mass development and plant recovery after stress.

The preparation does not contain chemical pesticides and is suitable for organic and conventional production.

CERIX B is applied by foliar spraying, preventively, before the disease becomes more severe.

In sugar beet

The preparation can be included in the standard production technology:

Regular preventive application of CERIX B strengthens the plant’s vitality and reduces the occurrence of diseases.
