FUZARIX is a biological fungicide for the preventive protection of plants against diseases caused by fungi of the genus Fusarium sp.
Application during the growing season reduces the occurrence of root rot and crop lodging, and can be incorporated into standard protection treatments. It is suitable for organic and conventional production.

Description

Problem: Fusarium in wheat

One of the most important diseases of wheat is fusariosis (fungi of the genus Fusarium). It most often occurs in years with moisture, frequent rains and warm weather, especially when wheat is grown after corn or small grains.

The infection can start in the soil, but the greatest damage occurs in two phases:

  1. In sprouting and rooting

The fungus attacks the young plant through the roots and coleoptiles. This is when the following symptoms occur:

Producers often see this as “bad seed” or “cold spring”, when in fact the cause is a pathogen in the soil.

  1. Into earings and flowering

During flowering, Fusarium can attack the spike (fusarium spike):

Consequences

In other words, the disease starts at the root, and ends as a problem in redemption

Where does FUZARIX work

FUZARIX is a biological fungicide that is applied preventively and works in the root zone and on the plant.

After application, beneficial microorganisms from the preparation inhabit the surface of the seeds, roots and the surrounding soil. There they create a protective microflora that prevents the development of Fusarium fungi.

Mechanism of action

  1. Biological competition
Beneficial bacteria take up space and nutrients in the root zone, so the pathogen does not have the conditions to develop.
  2. Antagonistic action
Microorganisms secrete natural substances that inhibit the development of mycelium and germination of Fusarium spores.
  3. Protection of young plants
They protect the coleoptile and the root from infection in the most sensitive phase of sprouting.
  4. Stimulation of plant growth
The plant develops a stronger root, shoots better and tolerates stress more easily.

Result on the plot

B. subtilis forms a biofilm by means of which it colonizes the surface of the plant. Competition between B. subtilis and phytopathogens: for binding sites on the plant surface and for nutrients (food) prevents the formation of biofilms, i.e. the binding of phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria on the plant surface. In this way, Fuzarix reduces the number and virulence of phytopathogenic organisms and protects the plant from pathogens.
